SMS Terms & Conditions
What our text messages are, how you opted in, and how to stop them.

The programme
Major Key Locksmith LLC sends pricing information, booking links, and job updates by text message to customers who have asked for them.
How you opt in
There are two ways to start getting texts from us, and these are the only two.
1. On our booking form. At majorkeylocksmith.com/book there are two separate optional checkboxes, both unchecked by default. They are deliberately separate so you can agree to one without the other:
- Job updates. “Text me updates about my job — appointment confirmations, when the locksmith is on the way, and follow-up about the work. Message frequency varies, usually a couple of messages per job. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help.”
- Reminders and offers. “Separately, text me occasional reminders and offers from Major Key Locksmith — a few times a year at most.”
You do not need either to book, and neither changes your price. Agreeing to job updates does not sign you up for offers, and you can opt out of either at any time by replying STOP.
2. By keypress when you call us. Callers to 973-922-3597 hear: “Thanks for calling Major Key Locksmith, licensed and insured. Emergency service starts at three hundred fifty dollars. Press 1 to speak to a locksmith. Press 2 and we’ll text you our pricing. Press 3 and we’ll text you a booking link.” Pressing 2 or 3 is how you opt in. The greeting tells you a text is coming before you press anything.
We never add anyone any other way. We do not buy, rent, or upload phone lists, and we only text the number you gave us.
The exact consent flow, word for word
Because one of our two opt-in paths happens on a phone call, here is precisely what every caller hears and what each key does. This is the complete call-to-action for that path.
1. The caller dials our published business number, 973-922-3597.
2. An automated greeting says, verbatim:
“Thanks for calling Major Key Locksmith, licensed and insured. Emergency service starts at three hundred fifty dollars. Press 1 to speak to a locksmith. Press 2 and we’ll text you our pricing. Press 3 and we’ll text you a booking link.”
3. The greeting states plainly that a text will be sent, so the caller knows exactly what they are asking for before they press anything. Pressing 2 or 3 is the caller’s express request to be sent that text message, and is the opt-in. No key press means no message is ever sent. Pressing 1 simply connects the call to a locksmith and opts the caller into nothing.
4. The message is sent only to the number the caller dialled from. We never message a number that has not called us first.
Message frequency varies — in practice one or two messages in response to a request, plus updates about a job you have booked. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time. Reply HELP for help. See our privacy policy.
How often
Message frequency varies and depends on what you asked for. In practice it is one or two messages in response to a request, plus updates about a job you have booked.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for our messages; your mobile carrier may.
Emergency dispatch fee
Separate from anything above, and about our service rather than our texts. If you ask us to send a locksmith to you right away, that $350 is a non-refundable emergency dispatch fee — it pays for getting a locksmith to you right now, so it isn’t refunded if you get in on your own or cancel once he’s on the way. We tell you this by text before you pay anything, and it is on the payment link the technician sends you.
Stopping them
Reply STOP to any message and we will stop. You will get one final message confirming it, and nothing after that. You can opt back in at any time by calling us and asking again.
Help
Reply HELP to any message, or call 973-922-3597, or email info@majorkeylocksmith.com.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Two numbers, and why
Automated messages — pricing, booking links, job notifications — come from our dispatch line. Conversations with Tim happen on 973-922-3597, the number on the van and on your invoice. If you reply to an automated message and need a person, call that number.
Privacy
How we handle your details is on our privacy policy. The short version: no mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
