What we charge
The whole price list, on one page. If a locksmith will not tell you what something costs until they are standing in your hallway, that is a choice they made.
Almost every price on this page is all-in — the mobile service charge is already inside it. Packages, hardware fitted on its own visit, lockouts, repairs and car keys are the number you pay. No separate trip fee appears at the end.
Two sections are priced per item instead: rekeying and keys, and hardware in the “added while we are already there” column. Those sit on top of the $250 mobile service charge, which is charged once per visit no matter how much we do while we are there. Each of those sections says so again where the numbers are. The minimum for any residential or commercial visit is $250, because that is what it costs to get a locksmith and a stocked truck to your address. Estimates by text, photo or video are free.

Rekeying and keys
These are per-cylinder rates, and the $250 mobile service charge is on top of them. It is charged once for the visit, however many cylinders we do while we are there — so a typical three-door house comes to $580 ($250 to get us there, then $55 a cylinder for six cylinders), or $850 if every key is lost. Above six cylinders the $695 package is usually the cheaper way round.

Car keys
The price depends on the year, make, model and key technology, and any table we published would be wrong for half of you. American and Asian makes, with 2021 and newer our strongest work — those are the secure-gateway vehicles most locksmiths send to the dealer. Here is what we work on, and why it costs what it does.

Two questions decide it: whether it starts with a button or a turned key, and whether any working key survives. Answer those and you get a real number, not a range. It takes about a minute and nobody has to call anybody.
The terms, in plain language
What the price includes:
- The mobile service charge — every price above already contains it. $250 is the minimum for any residential or commercial visit
- All labour, and any hardware named in the line
- Keying alike across everything we touch on the visit
- Testing everything works before we leave, and an itemised receipt with before-and-after photos
What costs extra, and how much:
- Cylinders beyond a package limit — $55 with a working key, $100 without
- A door needing a new bore — $100
- Keys beyond those included — $5 each
- After 5 PM the mobile service charge is $350, collected before dispatch
- A lock destroyed during an emergency entry, replaced — $150
Prices shown are in effect from August 2026 and remain in effect until updated on this page. Final price is confirmed with you before any work begins. Where a range is shown, the final figure is confirmed with you on site before any work starts — never afterwards. If the job turns out smaller than quoted, you pay less.
The Major Key guarantee
- 90 days on our labour, on every job. Rekeys, lockouts, door adjustments, installations — residential or commercial, the same number either way. If something we did comes loose, sticks, or stops working the way we left it, we come back and put it right at no charge.
- MK-line smart locks — 2 years on the lock itself. If an MK-1, MK-2 or MK-3 we supplied gives you trouble inside two years, we come out, replace the unit and fit the new one free — the visit and the fitting included. Not a manufacturer's call center, not a returns form. Us. This is the one place we guarantee the hardware, because it is the one lock we chose.
- Other locks we supply — Mul-T-Lock, Kwikset, Schlage, Master Lock — carry their manufacturer's warranty on the hardware, and we file that claim for you rather than handing you a phone number. Our labour on them is the 90-day baseline above.
- What none of it covers: damage, forced entry, or a lock that was sound when we left and has been attacked since.
